A tip that a new MacBook will be unveiled at WWDC 2021 in two weeks could be hidden in the image Apple released Monday for the developers conference. It appears in the reflection in a pair of glasses.
Noted Apple tipster Jon Prosser apparently moved quickly to confirm the report.
WWDC 2021 tip might be hidden in plain sight
Sami Fathi from MacRumors noticed that the person on the left has the Unicode for three emoji reflected in her glasses. They are for the knife and fork, the sleep and the laptop emoji.

All say “true,” so MacBook = true…? https://t.co/1DsUq6yLhf
This could be Apple saying “Eat. Sleep. Mac.” or something similar. But Fathi and others are hoping it’s a hint that a new Mac laptop will be unveiled at WWDC 2021.
Especially as Apple prognosticator Jon Prosser responded on Twitter by saying, “i can confirm macbook pro is coming.”
2021 MacBook rumors
Apple doesn’t generally introduce new hardware at WWDC — it’s supposed to be focused on software. But multiple sources point to a summer 2021 launch for new MacBooks, not just Prosser.
Unconfirmed reports of a 14-inch MacBook Pro have been around for a year. It’ll allegedly be joined by a redesigned 16-inch version. These are expected to replace the 13-inch model and the Intel-powered 16-inch Mac laptop in Apple’s product lineup.
There’ll supposedly be considerable hardware differences. The 2021 notebooks will allegedly include a built-in SD card reader and an HDMI port. And a MagSafe charger. But no LED Touch Bar.
If the new MacBooks really do debut at WWDC 2021, then they’ll might run an enhanced version of Apple’s M1 processor. Or the Apple M2 could be out earlier than expected.
We’ll find out in two weeks when the Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off June 7.
