The rumored Apple Watch Series 7 redesign will include slightly larger screens, according to an unconfirmed report. This fits with earlier leaks that the upcoming wearables will have smaller bezels.
Even slightly bigger is better
The source for the new info is a Weibo user calling himself Uncle Pan. He reports that the Apple Watch Series 7 will come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, up from the current 40mm and 44mm. The last increase in screen size was back in 2018.
Just note that this report isn’t from someone with an established reputation and so should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, news that 2021 Apple Watch models will have smaller bezels came from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a quite reliable Apple tipster.
More Apple Watch Series 7 rumors
Apple’s 2021 wearable is supposedly going to have a new, flat-edged design (seen above). That’s a look similar to the latest iPhone and iPad Pro models.
And it’ll supposedly include ultra-wideband. This presumably will allow the devices to point directly to AirTag item trackers as iPhones can do now. But it might not have a body temperature sensor, despite what was rumored earlier.
Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to be unveiled in September. It’ll be part of a busy season with Apple with iPhone 13, new Mac Pro models and a redesigned iPad mini all rumored to debut in early autumn.
