Tweetbot just rolled out a major update for its iPhone and iPad apps, adding new Home screen widgets, multi-window support, and more. The version 6.2 release also plays nicely with Handoff and Shortcuts for the first time.
Tweetbot remains one of the nicest, most powerful third-party Twitter clients you’ll find in the App Store. Creator Tapbots upset many of its fans when it switched to a subscription model with Tweetbot 6, but it continues to roll out big updates and improvements that make the app well worth its price tag.
The latest release is yet another doozy, with brand-new features to enjoy on iPhone and iPad — including Home screen widgets and support for using multiple Tweetbot windows on iPad.
Tweetbot 6.2 brings big improvements
Tweetbot’s new Home screen widgets let you see your timeline, mentions, search results, or lists at a glance, without having to open the Tweetbot app. A number of widget sizes are available, depending on how many tweets you want to see on your Home screen at once.
With support for multiple windows on iPad, you can view your Tweebot timeline, lists, and other content simultaneously. You can also now create Shortcuts that include the Tweetbot app for all kinds of automated actions. And with Handoff, you can pick up where you left off across iPhone and iPad.
This update also adds some new Tweetbot icons. The improvements join other great Tweetbot features, like mute filters, profile notes, custom timelines, iCloud sync, themes, and lots more.

The newest version of Tweetbot is free for existing subscribers. If you’re new, a seven-day free trial is available, while subscriptions are priced at a reasonable $0.99 a month or $5.99 a year.
