You can use it to secure any cabinet, like the ones you may use to store booze, medicines, papers or cleaning supplies. That is, any cabinet you want to keep someone out of, basically. And with HomeKit integration, you can see who last opened it and when.

HomeKit support

In addition to using it with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, you can add the Yale Smart Cabinet Lock to HomeKit. You can lock and unlock it using the Home app. You can incorporate it in automations. For example, when certain people are home, it automatically unlocks.

When you purchase the Yale Smart Cabinet Lock, you can get a Bluetooth-only package or one with the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge. But if you’re using HomeKit, you don’t have to use the bridge. However, the bridge is required for use with Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

Installation is easy enough if you follow the instructions. You need a Phillips head screwdriver. Yale offers an instructional video.
